Tour Itinerary
The Yarra Valley is the nearest premier wine region to Melbourne, approximately 40 minutes drive from the city with central CBD departure. Visitors can experience and enjoy all the wonders and hidden treasures that “The Valley” has to offer.
The cool climate of this region allows for the production of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and various sparkling wines.
The Yarra Valley has a history of wine-growing dating back to 1838 with European settlement. However, even before that, it was an area of abundance for the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Aboriginal people.
The region’s location, soil composition, and cool climate allow for the growth of vines and abundant local produce from the surrounding farmlands.
Yarra Valley Chocolates
Our Yarra Valley Wine Tours start with a chocolate-tasting experience. You can enjoy the view of picturesque orchards and the beautiful Yarra Valley while tasting different types of chocolate. The European chocolatiers are available to watch as they handcraft over 400 varieties of chocolate. You can buy some local goodies here that make great gifts for chocolate lovers. You can also have a cup of coffee or indulge in homemade ice cream at the café.
The St. Herberts Cellar Door Winery is a winery
St Hubert’s winery was founded in 1862 and helped establish the region as a premium wine-producing area in the 1960s. They are known for their exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon but also produce Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Roussanne. The winery has expanded its offerings to include reserve wines such as Sparkling Rose, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Munier. Visitors can experience an 8-glass premium tasting at the winery’s contemporary cellar. The quality of the tastings is impressive.
You may consider having lunch in Healesville, as it is a calming destination
Guests have free time in Healesville. They can grab lunch and explore the town. This tour is designed for guests. They can see the Yarra Valley through local eyes. They don’t have to be shut from the winery. Instead, they can explore local shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants. Guests need to pay for these activities.
Afternoon Cellar Door Tastings
We will visit two family-run boutique wineries for tastings during our Yarra Valley Wine Tour. Our schedule may change depending on group size or availability. Some of our recommended cellar door stops include Yering Farm Wines, Medhurst Wines, Yering Station, Killara Estate, Napoleone Cider & Orchard, Rochford Wines Yarra Valley, and Helen & Joey’s Wines. Please take the opportunity to unwind in the peaceful country setting while enjoying a glass of wine from their incredible selection.
